Recollection:
Most tracks are maybe 30% of the way completed before I have to quit working on them for a period of time. Could be a day, could be months. I've found that it's best when working on a track, to record a segment, then come back an hour or so later to see what you think about it. You tend to lose your understanding of what you consider "good" when you work for long periods of time without stopping. On the other-hand, sometimes being too analytical can destroy your creation. You over-think the smallest details; taking away parts, reworking parts, adding new parts- sometimes the spontaneity of working quickly works best.
This track, like Temple, was an exception to the usual grind. Tourbillion took 2 days to complete.
